The Brain Research on Chronic Aphasia (BRoCA Lab; Kurland, PI) is investigating:
Current funding (5 R01 DC011526-03, “Overcoming Learned Non-Use in Chronic Aphasia: Behavioral, fMRI, and QoL Outcomes”) supports these efforts. The discourse samples include baseline, post-treatment, post-six months home practice, and maintenance.
Note: Many of the participants in this corpus are seen multiple times throughout various treatment protocols. Some of the repeat sessions use only portions of the AphasiaBank Discourse Protocol. In addition, some of the sessions use the Cookie Theft picture as well as portions of the AphasiaBank Discourse Protocol, and some of the session use the Cookie Theft picture only.
